Essential :
i. A Master’s degree in library science / Information Science / documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven points scale and consistently good academic record set out in the UGC Regulations.
ii. At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a University library or eighteen years experience as a College Librarian.
iii. Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work.
iv. Evidence of published work (Library Research Papers) with a minimum of 5 books and / or publication in indexed / ISBN / ISSN numbered journals and / or ISBN / ISSN numbered books.
v. A Minimum API score of 400 as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) Based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC Regulations 2016 (4th Amendment).
vi. At the time of appointment selected candidate possesses a certificate of basic knowledge of computer applications of any institute as per resolution No.CRR-10-2007-120320-G5, dt.13/08/2008 and dt.18/03/2016 of General Administrative Department, Gandhinagar.
Desirable :
i. A M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree in library science/ Information Science / documentation / archives and manuscript-keeping
